Director and Senior Consultant: Southern Waters aims to provide a service to public and private organisations in advising on the sustainable management of inland and coastal aquatic systems, in particular environmental flows. At the same time, its members contribute to the body of fundamental knowledge on the structure and functioning of these ecosystems, and Southern Waters has therefore retained a research and teaching component through its direct links with an academic institution.

Grant Holder and Researcher: Water Research Commission Research Grant. The effects of trout farms on Cape rivers. A three-year project investigating the effect of land-based trout farms on mountain streams and foothills in the south-western Cape. Responsible for all facets of the project, including field data collection, technical decisions, report writing, liaison with the client, liaison with the Department of Agriculture and the Trout Farmers Association, presentation of seminars and preparation of invoices. Also member of the Aquaculture Working Group.
